Receptionist - Reading Depot
Salary: £27,958
Working Pattern: 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
Shift times: 08.00 to 17.00 (flexibility required)
The role includes:
As the Innovation Kitchen and Site Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience. This role is central to maintaining smooth operations within the Innovation Centre and supporting internal teams.
Key responsibilities:
Visitor Management:
Greet and assist visitors upon arrival
Escort visitors to the designated waiting area and ensure they are comfortable
Arrange site tours and provide PPE as required
Reception & Communication:
Answer incoming calls from the security hut and manage call diversion
Handle customer calls promptly and professionally
Respond to ad-hoc buzzer requests at the staff gate
Site Communications Champion, maintaining up-to-date and visually engaging notice boards across the facility, using materials from the internal communications team. Design and deliver additional internal communication materials using tools such as PowerPoint and Canva, as directed by the site Leadership Team.
Facilities & Meeting Support:
Maintain meeting room calendars and ensure rooms are prepared
Monitor Health & Safety standards in conference rooms and communal areas
Keep the reception area clean, tidy, and welcoming
Coffee Bar, Kitchen & Canteen Support:
Ensure the coffee bar is stocked and ready each day
Order supplies for the coffee bar
Provide cover for the Kitchen Manager during annual leave, including checking deliveries and coordinating with kitchen staff
Assisting with Kitchen and Canteen deep cleaning as required
Administrative Tasks:
Manage post, including taking receipt parcels and letters and distributing internally and franking and delivery of outgoing post to post box.
Any other administrative tasks as required by the site, which may include (but is not limited to) facilities administration, invoicing, purchase orders, arranging meetings, note taking etc.
What We’re Looking For
Excellent communication skills
Strong customer service skills and a professional telephone manner
PC literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment
Flexibility to support ad-hoc tasks and team needs
Knowledge of SAP (preferred, training provided)
