Senior Transport Planner
Annual Salary: £42,500, plus a great range of benefits
45 Hours - working Sunday to Thursday, with some Fridays required. if you work a Friday you will get a rest day during the week.
Typical shift pattern 9:30am - 18:30pm with flexibility required

Here we have a great opportunity to join our Distribution and Logistics team at our Reading Depot as a Senior Transport Planner. You will be joining a small team of 5 that keeps our network running and ensuring we deliver an exceptional level of service to our customers.
You’ll be responsible for making sure all routes are optimised so that operational targets are achieved – your amazing planning and organisational skills will be critical to your success. no two days the same, you will need to be able to adapt accordingly and deal with unexpected issues as they arise, ensuring that all stakeholders are communicated with in an effective and timely manner. As you would expect within logistics, this is a deadline driven role where you will need to balance the needs of drivers, customers, and account managers whilst staying calm and focused to get the job done. Working closely with depot operational colleagues, you will also review and refine delivery schedules to ensure maximum efficiency and analyse data from a variety of systems and sources to identify areas for future improvements.
To join us in this role you will enjoy working with data sets and will have a keen eye for detail. Knowledge and experience of using planning software is essential. This role involves a lot of data analysis so a keen eye for detail will always be needed. You will have a good understanding of driver working time and be confident using Microsoft Excel. Experience of SAP would be an advantage but is not essential. You’ll have an enthusiastic, can-do attitude, using your experience and logical thinking to overcome challenges as they arise to ensure a positive outcome.
